Phase 1: Establishing the network

The role of this phase is to create a UK network specific to marine biogeochemical modelling, which will assist in model evaluation. It will work to define a roadmap for the next generation of hierarchical ocean biogeochemisty models.

The project will consist of approximately 30 members from a wide range of disciplines, including:

  • Ocean and shelf seas modelling
  • Climate science
  • Biology
  • Ocean biogeochemistry
  • Computer science
  • Mathematics

Network members will be invited to a series of three workshops where they will be able to provide their expertise to inform the assessment of candidate models. The network will also appoint an independent chair who will contribute to meeting reports and chair the workshops.
