Hadley Centre Ocean Carbon Cycle model

HadOCC model diagramThe Hadley Centre Ocean Carbon Cycle model (HadOCC model) is a simple NPZD (Nutrient, Phytoplankton, Zooplankton, and Detritus) representation using N as the currency but with coupled flows of carbon and alkalinity. The model was the ocean biogeochemistry component of the Met Office's HadCM3 climate model used for the first ever coupled carbon-climate study. It is also the component of the Met Office's QUMP ensemble system (which aims to quantify the uncertainty in predictions of future climate due to model parameter uncertainty) and is run pre-operationally coupled to the FOAM (Forecasting Ocean Assimilation Model).
